For students entering Grades 10 & 11.
Beyond preparing students for success in the IB, this program is excellent preparation for all students entering Grades 10 and 11 in the research, communication, and collaboration skills needed for Grade 11 studies and beyond. Independent learning and critical thinking are the skills most needed for and appreciated by universities. This is a challenging and engaging course that explores the core academic IB Diploma subjects and provides opportunities to learn about and get a head start on Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Action and Service (CAS), and Extended Essay research and planning. Students will receive specific training in research and study skills and be introduced to IB style assessments. The program’s active and experiential projects enable students to explore Ottawa's beautiful natural surroundings and immerse in the culture. In addition, students have the opportunity to get to know and work with their future Ashbury teachers in a relaxed and productive setting.
