In partnership with Mission Control Space Services, Ashbury is offering Mission Control Academy. We are looking for astronauts to help us in our mission.

MISSION SCENARIO
In this mission, teams of students will play the role of astronauts on their way to Mars for an extended exploration mission. Their mission goal: to find signs of past or present life. A fleet of science rovers has been sent to potential landing areas to determine the optimal location for human exploration. The remaining distance to travel to the red planet is approximately 150,000 km which results in a ~2-second round trip delay in communications. With Earth around its closest approach, communications with the Ground Control Center (GCC) will have an ~8-minute two-way light time delay. For the mission deployment, each team will control one of the rovers from their interplanetary spacecraft and scout its landing area for sites of scientific interest. Their recommendations will serve as the basis to select the human exploration landing site.

*Students will participate in a trip to Montreal on Friday, July 14th returning between 6:00-8:00 pm.
